Victory Quilt for my son

This is one of Eleanor Burns' quilts - the Victory Quilt, using 6" blocks. It was my Christmas gift to him. I thought since he's in the Air Force it would be a nice addition to his new apartment when he gets to New Mexico.  I'd been working on it for a long time, but finally got it quilted and did the binding. He likes it!

Farmer's Wife Sampler Quilt - 5

Yesterday I went to "Quilt 'Til You Wilt" at the Quiet Mouse. It was just an all-day work-on-whatever-you-want activity, with food, drinks, drawings, and games.  I took my hand-crank, since Kristen asked me to, but my Featherweight was supposed to be fixed.  I set up the Featherweight and discovered that it was fixed, and it wasn't.  The feed dogs didn't clunk any more, but they weren't set high enough and weren't grabbing the fabric.  That meant I had to use a stylus and keep pushing it through.  Related to that was the problem of teeny-tiny stitches - even though I had it set on 12 stitches per inch.  I could use it if I set it on the widest stitch length possible - but as the hours went by, the stitches got smaller and smaller. At about 5 pm, I gave up and switched to the hand crank.  I've left the machine at the store so they can give it to the repair tech again.

Quilt 'Til You Wilt went from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., and I finished a lot more blocks from The Farmer's Wife. I'm almost finished with the blocks - and then comes sashing and bordering.

Farmer's Wife Sampler Quilt - 4

I have quite a few blocks for this post, since I haven't posted lately and have been very busy. I'm loving this project - it's not tedious or repetitive like some quilting can be - each turn of the page brings a new block with a different set of components. I'm more than halfway through the book now - and I've decided I'll go ahead and do them all, and end up with either two lap quilts or one queen-sized quilt.
