A Biscornu from Gaby!

Back in June, Gaby had a drawing on her blog for this wonderful biscornu - and I won! I took the picture, and then forgot to post about it. So here it is. I love biscornus, and plan to do a few more soon. Thanks, Gaby!!!

I Can't Find My Camera Charger and Battery!

When we came back from Colorado, I unplugged the charger with the spare battery in it and put it.........WHERE? It's not in the trailer. It's not in any of the bags I used to transport things home in. We've searched high and low.

I finally gave up yesterday and ordered replacements. Until then, I can't take pictures. I not only need to take photos of stitching items, but I have a whole lot of stuff to put on ebay - and can't do it without pictures.

Just wanted to vent. But this explains why I'm not posting.

And the winner is...

In celebration of my one-year blogoversary, I held a drawing. I put all the names of the people who wanted to enter in a little bowl, and had my husband draw a name. He drew Mae da Rita, which means "mother of Rita," also known as Maria-João! She lives in Portugal.

So, Maria-João, email me at cholmaneee at uia dot net, and let me know if you'd like me to make a little something for Rita or for you, and if you want a Christmas ornament, a cube, or a little framed piece for your wall.

What do I do with my orts?

(Isn't that a cool word? I learned it last year when I started stitching again. ) Above you see what I've done with all those little pieces of thread - I put them in mason jars. I think that eventually I'll use them as stuffing in an ornament or two, or a pillow. We'll see. Right now I'm just collecting them.

Straight from the Heart - AnnaLee Waite Designs

I think this will become a gift for one of my sisters!

F&S Squares from Martha

Martha from Australia not only stitched these squares for me, she designed the bird from a photo she took of the "pipers that feed along the surf line at our beach." This is so special, since it's so unique and so representative of Martha. The shiny package - due to the flash - is a sand castle embellishment for scrapbooking.

Thanks, Martha!

Santa Ornie from Debs (CSRR)

Isn't he cute? This is for the June ornament exchange on CSRR. It's from Debs, who lives in Canada. Thanks, Debs!!!

Fish - Oberlin Samplers

I bought this last summer in Cody, Wyoming, and stitched it this summer for my husband. I changed one of the kinds of fish (Haddock) to one he fishes for. (Striper)

WIP Update - Litte House fruits (one over one)

I finished a few more fruits on this piece - and have only two to go!

Utah Sampler - Shepherd's Bush

After I did the Colorado bell pull, I saw this pattern from Shepherd's Bush and decided it would be neat to put pieces in my new trailer that remind us of places we've camped. This was one of the first pieces I finished on our trip, and I'm going to turn it into a banner/bell pull like the Colorado piece. In the second row, there's a space for a tree button, which will be stitched on when I get ready to finish everything up.

Why it's Good to be Home

This is what I missed the most!
